Hello SF

I just moved to the city via Berkeley, via Hawaii- I am living in Inner Richmond, am going back to school, working on a multitude of projects and I know hardly *anyone*

If anyone would like to look at me, my profile, and maybe just give me a "hi" that would be great. I would love to meet some locals.

I am a very nice person.... I don't bite.

go on, say hi to me- welcome your new neighbor! :) remember that whole neighborhoody feeling??? 'oh these are the people in your neighborhood, in your neighborhood, in your neighborhooooooood'? Sesame Street, right? tee heee. =^.^=

SF Geeks dinner

I've organized dinners for impromptu get togethers for other tribes, and am interested in doing the same for SF Geeks tribe members. Any takers?

Depending on interest and availability - time, date, place TBD

I try and schedule dinners in various locales (SC, South Bay, Ebay, NoBay, SF, Peninsula, et al) so that a reach is created in each area. It's a fun way for people to get together between events, a way to gather a community presence in person, and get to know your fellow Community members outside the virtual arena.

If interested, please respond here, or alternative you can contact me via my tribe.net email / YIM/AIM (located in my profile)

Much love to you!

Trick out your laptop with laser etching

Perhaps you have seen the laser etching videos and pictures that show up on Digg every now and again. Maybe you have even wondered where you could get yours done. There is now a service in the SF Bay Area just for you! I'm opening up Ghost Marking as a service run by geeks, for geeks; and we are following in the 'open source business' footsteps of Adafruit in New York.

My website sucks, but I'm willing to trade etching for design work if someone with mad html skills wants to do a trade. :)

I am new to the Bay Area relatively, speaking and new to Tribe as well.

just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for an underage geek in the city?
can't seem to find much to do around here that doesn't involve either A - a bunch of dumb rich gutterpunk kids who think its cool to beat people up, or B - a bunch of dumb adult shaped kids who think they're smarter than everyone else..
or C - i'm 3 years short of the barscene, and 2-3 months short of the 18+ clubs - most of which sound pretty skanky anyway.

so - any suggestions? parties, gatherings.. whatever. anything that's muni accessible works for me! lol..

Ok, so I've been sick. Which means my sleep schedule went poof. Which means I was up at 4:30 this morning painting my nails a shiny new car blue [i NEVER paint them]... I thought they were dry, I even tested them a little. So I decided I'm finally going to put one of my boxes back together and low and behold I smudge my freakin nail. My poor sound card! Gah!!! what catastrophe.. there's a nice little streak of blue across the back of the card now.. the color definetly doesn't suit it well.
so what does nail polish do to hardware, exactly? how do i get it off without ruining the card? it's a crappy card for a crappy machine, but theoretically it works, and that's all i'm worried about..
